Dr. Karmy

“I believe everyone deserves access to quality dentistry, and decisions regarding dental care should be made based on treatment needs identified by patients and their dentists, not insurance companies.  I am perpetually involved in continuing education and believe dentistry to be a lifetime of learning. I am residency trained and board certified in anesthesia for dentistry, and have dedicated many years to providing care to our most fragile populations.  I will continue to reserve a significant portion of my clinic time for serving children.  My staff and I are highly experienced in providing treatment in sedation and anesthesia environments.  Speaking of staff, you will find the majority of our staff members have been with us for a decade or more.  We are like family, and I encourage you to come meet us.  I’m excited to expand our practice to a comprehensive family dental practice.

I hold dental licenses and general anesthesia permits in Washington and Oregon.  I’m certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.  Our office has a sedation suite with a level one medical gas system, complete with backup generator.  This high level of redundancy enables us to provide our treatments in the safest of office based environments.

When I’m not in the clinic or attending continuing education, I enjoy camping and fishing the Northwest, aviation, and constructing radio controlled models with my son Vincent.”

Dr. Ramsey

“I grew up in Walla Walla, WA and after finishing high school, I attended Walla Walla Community College and graduated from Walla Walla University with my Bachelor’s degree.  After graduating from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, I worked as an associate professor for the Restorative Department at the dental school helping teach dental students on clinic and in the dental lab.  I found my education and experience as a professor at the dental school extremely valuable.  I decided to move back to the Pacific Northwest to be near my family and raise my own family in my childhood community and have been back in Walla Walla since 2005.
I care very much for my patients and strive to provide the highest quality of service and excellent dental care to both children and adults in my family practice.  I am a member of several dental organizations that not only allow me to enjoy camaraderie with dental colleagues all over the nation, but also allow me to learn about updated dental materials and help educate me in new ways to provide excellent dental care to my patients.  My team has been working with me for several years now and they are passionate about serving their home community and our patients with the utmost care and compassion, educating our patients on good home care and providing a healthy smile.
In my spare time, I love to be outdoors.  I enjoy running, water skiing, and snow skiing and I like to go camping with family and friends.  I also enjoy being active with my family and walking my dog on sunny days.”

The Team

“I have worked with Dr. Karmy and Dr. Ramsey as a schedule coordinator/front desk receptionist since 2006. I am usually the first person you see when you enter the office, and I enjoy greeting the families we serve.”

“My varied duties include scheduling appointments in our office, coordinating patient referrals, translating for the doctors and families in person and via telephone, and insurance billing. I strive to make each family feel welcome and to provide a pleasant experience for everyone.

I was born in Mexico and moved with my family to Touchet at the age of two. I have lived in Touchet all of my life and married my high school sweetheart, Henry. Together we have four boys, Luis, Dominic, Jahdiel, and Zander. I enjoy spending quality time with my family as much as possible, which includes supporting my sons and husband at their many sporting events.”

Dental Assistant
“Growing up with Spanish speaking parents who struggle going to appointments due to the language barrier they face, gave me a different perspective of the type of person I want to be for community. As your dental assistant my goal is to create and build a relationship with you while providing adequate care where you feel confident to smile. Every day I gain new knowledge with the treatments provided in this office and from the Doctors, giving me the opportunity to share my wisdom with all my patients.”

“I dedicate my spare time to my family; I grew up with 4 siblings and now have 10 nieces/nephews, whom I chase around! I don’t have any kids of my own, but I have a 4-legged pup who loves attention and taking walks around the park. Fun fact, I would love to go skydiving, but for now weightlifting will have to suffice the sparks of adrenaline I aspire to receive.”

Dental Hygienist

“Hi, I’m Merrylou and I am a Dental Hygienist here at Wheatland Family Dental. I was born and raised here in Walla Walla. While growing up I enjoyed both swimming and golfing competitively. I spent my summers on the golf course and in the pool practicing as well as lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons. After high school graduation I attended the Walla Walla Community college where I played on the golf team and received my Associates of Arts Degree. I then moved to Eastern Oregon University finishing up my prerequisites for dental hygiene school. I received my Associates of Dental Hygiene Degree while attending the ODS College of Dental Sciences in La Grande, OR in 2008. I then finished my online Bachelors of Dental Hygiene in Business from the Oregon Institute of Technology. My interest in the dental field started when I was a young girl and constantly in the dental chair having work done. I was always so curious as to what they were doing. My mom worked various jobs in a dental office as well so I spent a great deal of time as a child at the office. I have been very happy picking a career as a Dental Hygienist.”
